  • Jennifer Blanco is Founder & Creative Director of Spindletop Design in Houston, Texas.

    Founder & Creative Director

    Jennifer brings over 10 years experience in branding and visual communications from inhouse and studio teams such as JP Morgan Chase, The Museum of Modern Art, and Louise Fili Ltd, a renowned graphic design studio in New York City. Her work has been featured in design compendiums by Gestalten, Rotovision, Rockport, Chronicle Books, and HOW magazine. She is co-founder of Workhorse Printmakers, a letterpress studio, along with her partner John Earles. From 2012-2016 she served on the Board of Directors for AIGA Houston, The Professional Association for Design. In her role as Vice President, she was an advocate for the AIGA mission of defining standards and ethical practices, the advancement of design as professional craft, and a vital cultural force in the city of Houston. Jennifer received a Bachelor's Degree in Graphic Design from the School of Visual Arts in New York—a multidisciplinary college of art and design known for its unparalleled faculty and innovative curriculum.

    John Earles

    Co-Founder & Brand Strategist

    John guides all brand strategy, research, writing, and ideas at Spindletop. His work has been featured in Gestalten, Rockport, Chronicle Books, and HOW magazine. He is the founder of Workhorse Printmakers, a letterpress studio, and is an educator in the School of Art at the University of Houston. From 2012-2016, John served on the board of directors for AIGA Houston, The Professional Association for Design. In his role as Director of Education Programming, he built events aimed to guide on ethical practices, design education, and enhance professional development. As Operations Director in the latter part of his term, he created policies, procedures, and tools to make the chapter more effective. He is the current Secretary on the Board of Directors of The Printing Museum of Houston. John holds a Master's Degree from the School of Visual Arts in New York.
